Michael Murphy Gallery proudly presents the legendary Peter Max in a solo exhibit. Max's psychedelic designs and bright colors captured the spirit of the late 60's and early 70's, immortalizing events such as the Summer of Love and the Apollo II moon landing. Over 100 works will be on exhibition and available for acquisition, including a globally exclusive presentation of rare autographed Peter Max posters, circa 1960’s-1970’s.

About Peter Max
Legendary pop artist and cultural icon Peter Max’s work captured the spirit of the late 1960s and early 1970s with its designs and bright colors. Among his many accomplishments, his "Be In" poster inspired hundreds of hippies to gather in New Yorks City's Central Park for the Summer of Love. Wildly popular in his time and all the way through today, his work can be found everywhere from college dorm rooms to corporate offices and recording studios. In today’s polarized society, Max hopes his old and new work will continue to bring joy to a troubled world.
“Joy can be found with just a little bit of looking, or when you’re not looking at all,” Max said. “I always want my art to make people happy and bring them joy. I’m happy when I’m creating art, and I hope that joy moves on to others."
