Hiking Spree: First Day Hike at Lettuce Lake

Since 1992 people have been ringing in the New Year by taking a "First Day Hike" - often to view the first sunrise of the year, and to enjoy the peace of the great outdoors. We cannot think of a better way to reflect on our past year and begin anew than with fresh air, bird songs, and dirt under our feet. Sign up for the Hiking Spree and join us on January 1st to hike at Lettuce Lake Conservation Park and greet the New Year with a walk in the woods and a gorgeous view from atop the observation tower.

Things to Note
- There is a $5 event fee, you can pay in advance
- There is a $2 park entry fee
- Participants should meet behind the Visitor's Center.
- The event may be canceled due to weather, rain checks will be provided
- If you are under 18 you must be accompanied by an adult
- The length of the hike is ~2 miles
- Participants must be 10 years or older
- The maximum number of participants is 12
- No pets allowed on this hike
- Participants must be registered for the Hiking Spree

- Bug spray
- Water in refillable container
- Closed-toe shoes
- Sunscreen
